Jan Taylor
Photography is in my blood. My father a talented wedding photographer in his day, had his own dark room, developed and printed all his own photographs and still shares his wisdom with me now. Passionate about photography for many years, I have almost always had a camera of some description in my hand. Since digital I have studied photography in its new format and very proud to have achieved my professional qualification with the British Institute of Professional Photographers two years ago and gained certificates level I and II in Digital Imaging. All post production work on images is done in house by me before sending to a professional laboratory for printing.

Malcolm Hawksworth

A photographer for over 30 years and experienced in many disciplines of Photography, Malcolm brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Essential Images. He has a great eye for detail and our photography compliments each other.

We are both aware of the changes in photography and keep Essential Images up to date by regularly attending seminars with leading professional organisations.

When we work local to the New Forest we have on hand a Makeup Artist and a Hair Stylist should we need them, and very often we do!

Our Makeup Artists

Sara is a professional makeup artist and runs her own Lymington beauty salon. She works with us regularly on our makeover portraits, bridal makeup and fashion shoots. Not only is she very talented, but she is a genuinely lovely person and puts people at ease before their photoshoot.

And Annabel, who is a young and talented makeup artist who is very much in tune with new makeup trends.

Hair stylist

Vicky of Vitre Hair in Lymington, Hampshire, a talented hairdresser with ten years of salon experience and is always on hand for our local weddings. Vicky is very happy to give brides a free consultation. She will advise and help you with your hair style and head dress to ensure you are comfortable on your wedding day.

Hotels and Venues
We consider ourselves extremely lucky to be based in the New Forest, Hampshire with its beautiful backdrops and also being close to the sea in Milford gives us fabulous photo opportunities.

Essential Images works closely with many New forest Hotels, including Careys Manor in Brockenhurst and The Montagu Arms in Beaulieu

We also have relationships with wedding venues far and wide but absolutely love new venues creating new photo opportunities, so no need to concern yourself if we haven’t photographed a wedding at your chosen venue. Whether we have been there or not, we always visit the wedding venue prior to the wedding to get to know the staff and familiarise ourselves with the rooms which are being used etc.
