FAQ

As you probably won't have been married before, you may have plenty of questions unanswered. These are a few questions and answers that may help you. Please feel free to contact us with any queries you may have Contact Jan or Malcolm

Why should we choose you as our wedding photographers?
We work on a select number of weddings a year in order that we can give you a personal very special service. We take time to get to know you to ensure we understand the photography you want. Our photography is about you, not about us.
We are passionate about photography and we care about you. Your day is as special to us as it is to you.

What is the Pre-Wedding Shoot that is included?
A really important part of booking us! It’s a very informal and fun shoot on location which, by the end of it, you will have relaxed in front of the camera, and we will have learned how best to photograph you on your wedding day. It’s imperative for anyone who is nervous about being photographed, as once you’ve seen the results from that shoot you’ll have no fears or worries left about the photography part of your wedding day.

Can I print from the CD of images for my own prints?
Yes you can, if you have a package that includes a CD. All images are high resolution and can be copied or printed. If you opt for our Intimate Package you can purchase a CD of printable images for £250.00.

What about an Album?
Coffee Table Books and Traditional Albums are available to purchase from £77.00 to £1000.00.

When do you arrive for the wedding?
Dependant on our initial discussion, we will arrive at the bride’s home or Hotel room the morning of the wedding for some candid shots ‘getting ready for the big day’. We will then arrive at the wedding venue around 20 minutes before the bride to take photos of the groom/ushers and guests arriving. All will be agreed well in advance of the wedding so you know we will be there on time!

Will you visit the venue before the wedding?
Yes always. This is important so that we can get a good idea of stunning photographic opportunities with great lighting and
backdrops etc. It also gives us the opportunity to find locations for photographs if rain is forecast.

How many images will you take?
This varies from one wedding to another, we have no fixed number. The quantity taken is dependent upon many factors, eg. the number of locations throughout the day, and the amount of available time between the ceremony and the wedding breakfast. Rest assured that you will have plenty of beautiful images from which to choose your final prints.

Do you take formal groups as well as candid photos?
Yes, we do, however we try to take the formal groups, but we like to limit these to a maximum of 20 minutes to ensure minimum interruption on your Wedding Day and we will work to a pre-arranged list, discussed with you at our consultation. We will ask your Best Man and Ushers to assist us in this and help gather the necessary guests and the more organised we all are, the quicker it will be.

How many photographs will we see?
Most weddings produce between 150 & 300 fantastic images. All of these are supplied on a CD as proofs (non printable) from which you will choose your final images.

How do we book?
We always like to have an initial meeting to discuss requirements and ensure that we provide your style of photography, like each other and know that we will get on well on your wedding day. A booking fee of £300.00 is required to reserve the date, this would be taken off the package price, the balance of which is required 30 days prior to the wedding. A booking form and contract is signed and a meeting arranged for the pre-wedding shoot.

Once we have booked what happens next?
Once you have booked and paid the booking fee we then arrange a suitable date prior to the wedding (approximately 6 weeks before) for your pre-wedding shoot and to discuss the day and a list of the shots you require.

What cameras do you use?
We use professional digital cameras. Our range includes a 12
million pixel Nikon D700 and two 10 million pixel Nikon
D200s. These cameras along with a selection of top quality lenses
allow us to work unobtrusively in all lighting conditions, even
candle light. However, we try not to get too hung up about what we use- it’s the skill of the person taking the photograph that determines the end result.

What charges are made for digital manipulation?
Some editing is carried out on a complimentary basis ie. Every image Is assessed for colour and tone and relevant images tidied and cropped where necessary. We then convert selected images to black and white. Any additional editing is chargeable and will discussed with clients at point of request.

Can we have our images posted online?
Yes, you can select up to 150 images to go online at no extra charge.
